  • Frivolinas (Arturo Carballo, 1927) is a silent musical, which includes numbers from the most famous musical reviews of the 1920s. The goal of this film restoration, done by the Filmoteca Española, was to recover the original music, thus it was necessary to investigate the reviews of that time period.

    However, there are several variations of these numbers and in the process of restoration, the technicians had to choose the one that most fit the film. The ultimate objective was not just to restore the film but to recreate what it meant to attend the abstract spectacle of a silent musical in the 20s.
