  • Resumen
    • Sierra de Teruel, the only film directed by André Malraux, premiered in 1944 under the title of L’Espoir. For the premiere, nineteen shots of the original film had been cut and were considered lost. By comparing European versions of the film with a copy preserved at the Washington Library of Congress, it was shown that the American version is the original. The article describes the circumstances of the film’s production and distribution which brought about its mutilation, and the abstract ultimate preservation of only one copy.
