    Este ensayo ilustra el proceso de constitución en los Territorios del Noroeste de Canadá. El autor estudia las relaciones entre el Estado-Nación y varios grupos étnicos que han debido redefinir su identidad tradicional ante nuevas situaciones políticas y sociales. Igualmente, se plantean algunas cuestiones que hoy están en el horizonte de las minorías y lo que éstas pretenden alcanzar. La Constitución canadiense se ha modificado con el fin de reconocer los derechos de sus minorías tradicionales.

    This article illustrate the process of constitution building in the Northwest Territories of Canada. The author sheds light on the relationship between the NationStates and the various ethnonational groups composing them. He offers a promising solution towards conciliating the respective rights of majorities and minorities to selfdetermination through the concept of direct consociation. In the current context of high constitutional tension, in which Canada finds it-self under pressure to elaborate a Constitution based on the recognition of the continued existence of aboriginal political rights, this analysis contributes to a clarification of the issues at hand and the solutions that can be envisioned.
