Hypnosis traditionally has been a controversial subject that has generated a multitude of very different myths and theories around itself. Therefore, it is not surprising that subjects have very different concepts about this phenomenon. On the other hand, these beliefs may influence the effectiveness of hypnotic techniques in clinical practice. So, in this research, we have analyzed the psychometric properties of new scale on beliefs about hypnosis. The results found seem to indicate the suitability of this instrument. Its possible usefulness in a clinical, as well as social environment, is suggested.
