This chapter examines the paradoxical role of minority rights discourse, which while seeking to accommodate and integrate minority speakers into the Madrid Autonomous Region, inadvertently segregates and marginalizes them. This contradiction between the principles stated by the official discourse, and the action developed is explained through the analysis of the significant ideological dilemmas referred to educational politics, language maintenance and education, and individual and collective rights
