Resumen de La fortificación como elemento para el control y la ordenación del territorio

En el artículo siguiente se establecen tres fases diferentes en el fenómeno de fortificación vinculado a los procesos de control y ordenación territorial en el alto y medio Valle del Tiétar. Una primera fase estaría relacionada con el establecimiento de la Frontera Media en torno a la ciudad islámica de Talavera y la construcción de atalayas. Un segundo momento respondería a la construcción de torres ligadas al proceso de colonización cristiana. Ya en la Baja Edad Media, las fortificaciones, como consecuencia de la señorialización de la comarca, responden a un nuevo modelo conocido como castillo señorial.

The aim of this article is to show the three different stages in the erecting of fortifications linked to the process of territorial order and control in the Tiétar Valley. A first phase would be connected with the setting of the border near the Islamic City Talavera and the construction of watchtowers. A second stage shows the building of towers linked to the process of Christian colonization. Later, in the low Middle Ages the fortifications, as a result of a new political situation of total authority and power as the lord over a particular area, have been erected following a model known as lordly castle.
