  • Resumen
    • The contribution of the seviri and augustales to the craft and trading activities in the main cities of Roman West has a reflection in the provinces of Upper and Middle Danube. A comparative study, on the basis of an epigraphical research, shows important coincidences in the onomastic characteristics, economical level and social behaviour of the groups of negotiatores, seviri and augustales in Rhaetia, Noricum and Pannonia. The geographical location of these social groups is also similar. Evidences are found in urban places near and along the Danubian limes, or by the main rivers, such as Saya, Drava and Rába, that is, in cities which take part in the trading and supplement routes to the frontier.
