El rostro de Boccherini, espejo de un alma de artista

    Los autores de estas líneas han compilado, y enmarcada en su cante lo, las imágenes, tanta coetáneas cama modernas, del compositor Luigi Boccherini a las que han tenida acceso. Se trata de una miscelánea compuesta por dichas, bustos, estampas de grabado, lápidas y máscaras mortuorias que nos permiten contemplar la expresión, las actitudes, las miradas, las sonrisas y las tristezas del maestro de Luces, can una especial atención a una de las dichas, recientemente descubierto como retrato del compositor, que había circulado por diversas subastas como si fuera de Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Su propietario actual, el Dr. Gerhard Christmann, que lo adquirió como imagen del salzburgués, desveló, con ayuda y asesoría de diversos expertos, que el retratado era, en realidad, Luigi Boccherini. Tal hallazgo ha dado lugar a la presente recopilación, por sugerencia, precisamente, del Dr. Christmann, interesada, cama los propias autores de este articulo, en la divulgación del cuadro y del resto de las retratos de Baccherini, en un momento particularmente oportuno, puesto que se cumplen los 200 años de la muerte del músico de origen toscano, pero plenamente hispanizada

    The authors of these lines have compiled and framed within their context all the contemporary and modern images of the composer Luigi Boccherini they have had access to. They are a miscellaneous collection of oil paintings, busts, engravings, headstones and death masks which permit us to contemplate the expression, the attitudes, the gestures and the joy and the sorrows of the Master from Lucca, with one of the recently discovered oil paintings deserving special attention as it had circulated among diverse auction sales allegedly as a portrait of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Its present owner, Dr. Gerhard Christmann, who had acquired it under the impression it was of the Master from Salzburg, with the aid and advice of several experts, was able to demonstrate that the portrait was in fact of Luigi Boccherini. That discovery gave rise to compiling the present collection precisely at the behest of Dr. Christmann who is interested, just as the authors of this article are, in divulging that specific portrait along with the rest of Boccherini's portraits at a most opportune time coinciding with the bi-centenary of the death in Madrid of the composer from Toscano.
