Resumen de El Consorcio Madroño

Azucena Blanco Pérez

  • The Consorcio de Universidades de la Comunidad de Madrid y de la UNED for library co-operation (Consorcio Madroño) is presented in this article. The consortium was created in 1999 by the 6 public universities of the community of Madrid and the UNED (Open University). The consortium's aim -- «to improve the quality of library services through interlibrary co-operation»- - will be attained by maximising the scholarly community's access to bibliographical and electronic resources, improving library services, promoting the training of librarians, etc. The annual objectives have permitted new services to be set in motion; for instance, the Madroño Passport Programme; usage guides to databases; improvements to the Maleta Viajera service; efforts towards a platform for free access to the Consortium's scientific production, etc.
