  • Alfonso de Cartagena's 'paideia' is one the most important of the 15th. century in Europe. It is based on the reading of the Gospel and on the classical authors in any of the age strata of man. I think that the cabbalistic concept of 'kefitash' can be detected in its understanding of the corporeal and incorporeal beings and of Gog. The 'summum bonum' is not obtainable in this life: this one of the clearest proofs of his anti-scholasticism.
