  • In this text are examined popular traditions of Samos concerning the Revolution of 1821. The study of such material brings to light that these events have been created upon popular standards aimed to enforce the willing of the people to prevent the Ottoman troops to invade the island, the connection between culture and politics, in a wider point of view, is analyzed.
