  • Resumen
    • During the first third of lbs XVIIth century the Catalan historiography tries having an own General History. None of the chronicles dial were written and published during this period by authors such as Francesc Diago, Jeroni Pujades or Andreu Bosch were promoted thanks to the initivative of the Catalan institutions; besides, as Esteve de Corbera proclaimed on the preliminary pages of the Cataluña Illustrada (Napples, 1679), a work written c. 1630, there was no official historian in Catalonia similar to the ones worked in Aragón or Valencia. In this article I analyse the process of publishing of three general histories, belonging to the period 1599-1628, that are widely documented, mainly thanks too the approvals, printing licences and privileges located in the "paratexte", but also, due to the existence of some personal diary of the author, a printing contract and the documents of the resolutions of the Consell de Cent of Barcelona as a institutional publisher; the printed prologues and dedications are more literary text that don't provide exact dates, so that I have used them more cautiously. The third chosen works perform different forms of publishing and patronage: the "Historia de la Provincia de Aragón de la orden de Predicadores" (1599) is an ecclesiastic history of the kingdoms of the Corona de Aragón written by Francesc Diago from the point of view of his Dominic order, that was promoted, financed and printed by the autorities of the religion; nevertheless, the "Crónica Universal de Catalunya" (1609) was began thanks to dic initiative of the author, Jeroni Pojades, aldiough the Conselí de Cent of Barcelona always acted as an active patron of the chronicle; finally, it seems any public institution supported the "Sumari dels títols d'honor de Catalunya i comtats de Rosselló i Cerdanya" (1628) by Andreu Bosch.
