Spanish democracy had to pay a price to exist: silence, no revision of the past, no settling of accounts with the dictatorship. And this condition has been followed to the letter by politicians and the media for the twenty-seven years of democracy. In this panorama of pratically forgetting our history, there are only two exceptions: historians, who have continued in their investigative work, and the pubic television station of Catalonia, which since 1992 has carried out a series of investigative reports, who have illuminated dark periods of our history. In this article we explain how these reports have collaborated in the recovery of historical memory in three ways: 1.By divulging the history hidden from the public. 2.By investigating side by side with historians and bringing to light unknown historical events of our recent history. 3.By recovering historical imagines which were in danger of being lost.
