  • Resumen
    • This articles studies the historical documentary in order to confront some of the current controversies which have arisen about the idea of historical reconstruction in the field of film and television. The first point raised consists of updating the idea proposed by Marc Ferro that any film is a document of mentalities, starting from two basic ideas: first, that cinema, in addition to being a document, has a history as an artistic product, and second, that the documentation of the past has to be carried out without falling into what Tzevan Todorov called the abuses of memory. The second point has to do with the problem of how history is modified given the perception that we have of it from a particular point in the present. Finally, the article goes into the area of ethics in order to deal with the problem of the limitations of the act of showing in a particular historical moment in which showing has been transformed into a form of banalization.
