  • Resumen
    • From the emergence of digital technology in society and, more specifically, in a business scenario as competitive as that of television, have emerged certain professional processes and practices only concerned with making short-term profit. At the same time, on the domestic market the increased offer of digital video cameras and of filming equipment in general has permitted the popular legitimization of the image as a guarantee of reality. These two premises, taken within a social context which has inherited the tics of post modernity, has propitiated the coexistence of ¿trash TV¿ and the genre of the documentary in the television universe. Society is ever more needful of a dose of reality. This article examines the basic needs for information of the ordinary person and how, because of his or her fears and dreads, he / she feels attracted to trash TV, a television business with generates false realities.
