In the present work, a dialogue is established between the so-called “Barcelona Thomistic School” and Leonardo Polo regarding the knowledge that each person’s soul can have of its own being. To this end, the study compares the place occupied by the existential knowledge of the soul in the Thomistic School with the habit of wisdom in Leonardo Polo’s synthesis. What motivates this research is the tension that can be observed between, on the one hand, the proximity of both positions with respect to their understanding of the agent intellect from the act of being, and, on the other hand, their divergence concerning the recognition of the possibility of a reditio in which one’s own being is known.
