At the beginning of the 21st century, attention was paid to a particular phenomenon that has enriched literature: exophony, the practice of choosing to write in a language other than one's mother tongue. Although this phenomenon has long existed, there are still relatively few studies on the subject. Given these premises, this work presents the figure of Corina Oproae (1973), a writer and poet, who is Romanian by birth but Catalan by adoption. For years, Oproae has used Spanish and Catalan as the basis of her literary and poetic activity, having also translated from Romanian into both Spanish and Catalan. Oproae is, therefore, identifiable with the category of exophonic writers and has been a presence on the Spanish and Catalan publishing market since 2016. In fact, in Catalan she wrote "La mà que tremola" (2020), a poetic reflection on the act of writing in a language that is not her own. In this study, a corpus of poems taken from this poetry collection forms the basis of a detailed linguistic and thematic analysis of these works.
