Ms. 8418, currently held at the Library of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, consists of two consecutive bifolia that appear to have belonged to a larger work. Within these leaves, eleven texts have been transmitted —mostly written in Romance language and Hebrew script, and each introduced by a heading in Hebrew. In this study, addressed to scholars of Hispanic and Romance studies, we present a description of this material and notes for a linguistic analysis. We propose that the surviving fragment contains texts in Aragonese, datable to the last third of the fifteenth century, and that it originally formed part of a maḥzor piyutim in Romance, intended for Jewish women.
