Law No. 13,104/2015 recognised femicide as a heinous crime in Brazil, consoli-dating it as an object of scholarly inquiry. This study presents a systematic liter-ature review examining scientific publications on femicide in the country between 2013 and 2023. Using the PRISMA method, searches of the SciELO, PubMed, and BVS databases identified 424 articles; after exclusions based on eli-gibility criteria, duplicates, unavailability, and full-text screening, 31 studies were included for analysis. The findings show increases in publications in 2017, 2021 and 2022, reflecting the enactment of the law and the impacts of the pan-demic. Studies were concentrated in the South and Southeast regions, with a predominance of female authors and quantitative approaches, mainly within the health field. The literature discusses the concept itself, profiles of victims and perpetrators, and social technologies. Significant gaps remain-particularly re-garding the femicide of Black women and contexts beyond the South-Southeast axis-underscoring the need for more effective public policies and sustained re-search to address violence.
