The article seeks to critically understand the relationship between the concepts of translation, in Yuri Lotman (1996, 1998, 2000), and mediation, in Bruno Latour (2005), aiming to compare similarities and differences between the Semiotics of Culture and Actor-Network Theory, amidst climate collapse. To this end, we begin by revisiting the Anthropocene (Crutzen; Stoermer, 2015), especially through the lens of Eli da Veiga (2019, 2023). Next, we explore potential intersections between the concepts that situate this article within this ecological and political context. Finally, through a transdisciplinary study, we present the connections between the investigative process and the emerging categories of Mesocene (Petrônio, 2022) and Semiocene (Santaella, 2025).
