The present work has a triple objective. First, questioning, that is, moving the certainties with which the practice of diagnosis is installed and its consequent application of standard techniques. Secondly, to demonstrate, through a clinical case, that this questioning is not only a theoretical question, but that it is revealed as a preliminary step for the possible treatment of a child with autistic functioning. In this way, the space is opened for the emergence of a dignified manifestation of the subject and the opportunity for a nomination that bears the mark of the Other on the subject's body. This nomination, pointed out by the analyst, has the value of punctuating the invasive jouissance experienced by the child in the case we will see. Thirdly, separation, that is, demonstrating that the practice of nomination is not without the provocation of necessary moments of separation in the subject of autistic functioning with respect to objects that represent its lost cause. The question is how separation and nomination are operations that, as they question the practice of diagnosis, underlie as foundations that go in the direction of any possible treatment of autistic subjects? It is concluded that in order for psychoanalysis to house what is rejected in the symbolic, it is necessary that the analyst is willing to become what suits the analyzing subject, that is, operate a flexibility, a sufficient mobility that allows in the clinic with children the instrumentation in time of a face that houses the transferent unconscious towards the processing of his most own, amorphous and mute real, which collapses the idea of intellectual analyst, solemn, serious, still, but active, if he intends to cause analytical work of a child.
