    Se presentan aspectos del vínculo —afectivo y académico— que unió a Alejandro Ortiz Rescaniere con José María Arguedas. A través de un estudio del epistolario entre ellos, se intenta hacer dialogar a ambos personajes, motivo por el cual usamos citas textuales de su correspondencia. La fuente es el libro con las cartas entre Arguedas y Ortiz Rescaniere, para el que, a pedido de Alejandro, me ocupé de transcribir testimonios y cartas, así como de confeccionar las correspondientes notas. Dicha publicación, realizada por la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) en 1996, puso en evidencia la forma como se ligan proyectos de vida y afectos. Con un tiraje limitado, se agotó hace años y no ha tenido reedición, por ello, pensamos que el mejor homenaje para Alejandro es revisitar ese epistolario y explicar su cercanía a José María Arguedas.

    Aspects of the emotional and academic bond between Alejandro Ortiz Rescaniere and José María Arguedas are presented. Through a study of their correspondence, we attempt to bring the two figures into dialogue, which is why we use verbatim quotes from their correspondence. The source is the book of letters between Arguedas and Ortiz Rescaniere, for which, at Alejandro’s request, I transcribed testimonies and letters, as well as prepared the corresponding notes. This publication, made by the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) in 1996, highlighted the way in which life projects and affections intertwine. With a limited print run, it sold out years ago and has not been reissued. For this reason, we believe the best tribute to Alejandro is to revisit this correspondence and explain his closeness to José María Arguedas.
