Given the limited sensitivity of professors to special educational needs (SEN), this doctoral research is carried out, which aimed to strengthen teaching sensitivity for the teaching-learning of students with SEN through teacher awareness workshops at an educational institution of Santa Elena - Ecuador, 2022. This study was of a qualitative type with a socio-critical approach and participatory action design, where 9 professors who teach different subjects in the third year of high school collaborated. For the collection of information, the interview technique and a record of facts were used, using as an instrument an interview guide validated by five experts. Among the main results, it was found that when applying inclusive educational processes, several of the professors presented difficulties with respect to acceptance, ways of teaching, motivation, reflection, and curricular adaptations, aspects that should be strengthened. However, the participants attended sensitization workshops, where they became familiar with terms specific to inclusive processes in teaching-learning. These results led to the conclusion that if teachers participate in awareness days through workshops, the sensitivity for teaching-learning of students with special educational needs is strengthened, it should be noted that teacher sensitivity is strengthened with experience and is something variable that depends on your context.
