The present study aimed to analyze the perception of accounting professionals about Exame Nacional de Desempenho de Estudantes (ENADE). A quantitative, descriptive and survey methodology was used in this research. The data collection instrument used was a questionnaire with nineteen closed questions, based on research by Freitas et al. (2015) and Araújo et al. (2017). The population was 20,880 professionals registered with the Regional Accounting Council (CRC/SC), and reached a sample of 169 respondents, representing 0.81% of the population. This questionnaire was applied between August 21 and September 14, 2018. Data were tabulated using Google Forms® and the analysis technique used was descriptive statistics, using relative frequency. Among the main results, it can be highlighted that the majority of the survey respondents (76.3%) did not take the Exam, being unable to perform the second section of the questionnaire. However, it was possible to identify that the majority of the respondents (from the ENADE survey) believe that taking the test does not contribute or add value with respect to their professional career, but that the result obtained is capable of causing changes in the Higher Education Institutions. Regarding the level of knowledge, more than half of the participants (57.5%) disagree that the questions applied are able to measure such knowledge, and most report that the exam has moderate difficulty.
