    The technologist from the Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology is a relatively new actor in the labor market, where he joins the graduates of modalities with a greater presence in Brazil. Since the institutionally constituted view of the course and the educational institution influence individual trajectories, it is important to know the identity of the Federal Institute technologist in Brazil. Thus, a bibliographic review of narrative was carried out in confluence with documentary research. It was obtained that, immersed in the economic vision of education, the technologist of the Federal Institute is constituted throughout the course, immersed in complex social constructions. It comprises systematized sets of knowledge aimed at the market and professional practice offers the social recognition of the profession. It is expected to contribute to policies that favor their constitution as professionals in the market.

    O tecnólogo dos Institutos Federais de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia é ator relativamente novo no mercado de trabalho, onde soma-se aos egressos de modalidades com maior presença no Brasil. Uma vez que a visão institucionalmente constituída acerca do curso e da instituição de ensino influenciam as trajetórias individuais, importa conhecer a identidade do tecnólogo dos Ifes no Brasil. Assim, efetuou-se revisão bibliográfica de narrativa em confluência com pesquisa documental. Obteve-se que, imerso na visão econômica da educação, o tecnólogo dos Ifes se constitui ao longo do curso, imerso em construções sociais complexas. Compreende conjuntos sistematizados de conhecimentos voltados ao mercado e a prática profissional oferece o reconhecimento social da profissão. Espera-se contribuir para políticas que favoreçam sua constituição como profissional no mercado.
