  • In the context of the 30th anniversary of the Basque Pottery Museum, an archaeological survey was carried out to the south of the Ollerías ceramic production furnace (Legutio, Araba). Excavations had never been carried out at the site before and the objective was to learn about the origins of this structure, a unique example of proto-industrial architecture in the Basque Country. Pottery production in Ollerías has been documented since the 9th century, but the precise origin of this farmhouse-furnace that now houses the Musem remains a mystery.
