  • Throughout 2023, three different projects were carried out at the Iruña / Veleia site (see title of the document).

    As part of a project designed to shore up the southern wall between cubes O01 and O11 in the Iruña / Veleia archaeological site located in Iruña de Oca (Álava), designed by the architect Óscar Reinares Fernández, the postern located between cubes O04 and O05 was excavated.

    During the intervention, carried out on the inner part of the wall, we documented a series of elements that provide insight into the characteristics of this access point from its construction at the end of the 4th century AD, up until the moment the postern was closed up and abandoned, from which point the area was used for agricultural purposes.

    Regarding the interventions stemming from the network of topographic databases and road improvement works, no results of archaeological interest were reported
