Between 2020 and 2021, an archaeological research project was carried out at the previously fairly unknown Templar Preceptory of Aslackby in Lincolnshire, UK. The project consisted of background research of written sources, a geophysical survey, and test pitting. A number of finds and features from the former preceptory were uncovered and contributed to a better understanding of the site’s history, location, and layout. Remains of the former kitchen, the boundary wall, and the likely remains of the chapel were discovered. The results from the project were compared to the Royal inventory of former Templar land in Lincolnshire from 1308, and the two sources largely matched.
