    Se revisa cómo el modo de habitar de los científicos influyó en la producción de conocimiento científico sobre la Patagonia entre fines del siglo XIX y principios del XX. Vincula este conocimiento al proceso de apropiación territorial con que Argentina y Chile avanzan sobre los territorios del sur, indagando en el peso de los contextos argentinos y chilenos en la producción de conocimiento.

    This article examines how scientists’ way of living influenced the scientific knowledge production about Patagonia, between the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It links this knowledge to the process of territorial appropriation with which Argentina and Chile advanced over the southern territories, investigating the influence of the Argentine and Chilean contexts on the production of knowledge.
