En esta comunicación se analiza la labor investigadora llevada a cabo por el maestro castellonense Vicente Ripollés (1867-1943), principal impulsor de la implantación de la reforma religiosa musical en Valencia. Si bien hasta la fecha se ha reseñado única y exclusivamente su contribución al estudio del villancico valenciano del siglo XVIII y su monografía centrada en los músicos castellonenses que trabajaron en Valencia a lo largo de los siglos XVII, XVIII y XIX, en esta aportación se sacarán a la luz otras líneas de investigación que llevó a cabo, como, por ejemplo, el estudio de las epístolas farcidas de Navidad y de San Esteban del siglo XV, conservadas en la catedral de Valencia, y de los dramas litúrgicos valencianos, particularmente del escrito por san Francisco de Borja.

This paper analyses the research work carried out by the master from Castellón Vicente Ripollés (b.1867-d.1943), main promoter of the implementation of the sacred music reformation in Valencia. Although until the present the only reviews have been those about his contribution to the study of the 18th century Valencia carol and his monograph focusing on the musicians from Castellón who worked in Valencia during the 17th, 18th and 19th century, in this paper other lines of investigation he followed will be brought to light, for instance the study of the Christmas and the St Stephen epístolas farcidas of the 15th century, preserved in the cathedral of Valencia, and the study of the liturgical dramas from Valencia, especially that written by St Francis Borgia.
