    Estas notas presentan el estado de la cuestión sobre el asesinato del jesuita Nicolás Segura, ocurrido el 7 de marzo de 1743 dentro de la Casa Profesa de México a manos de otro miembro de la misma orden, llamado José Villaseñor. Con ellas, se espera contribuir a que algún día se establezcan las verdaderas causas del suceso, no por un infructuoso morbo, sino para desentrañar las relaciones de poder implícitas, entendiendo que no se trata de hechos aislados, sino de la manifestación de tensiones que desbordan la simple enemistad.

    These notes present the current state of research on the assassination of Jesuit Nicolás Segura, which occurred on March 7, 1743, inside the Casa Profesa in Mexico City, at the hands of another member of the same order, José Villaseñor. It is hoped that they will contribute to establishing the true causes of the event someday, not out of morbid curiosity, but to unravel the underlying power dynamics, understanding that these were not isolated incidents, but rather the manifestation of tensions that transcend mere enmity.
