The industrial heritage is today an emerging heritage, which has been written and studied a lot since the late twentieth century. Its recognition and valorisation must be updated and demanded now more than ever, as a key piece in which to highlight the role played by the citizen in its interpretation. Their rehabilitatior and protection will be possible or on the contrary, their forgetting and destruction.

The Industrial Heritage is included in the legislation, within the law of Spanish Historical Heritage and in the case that concerns us, in the law of Historical Heritage of Andalusia, within the so-called Special Patrimonies: Title VII gives a nature charter in our legislation of Historical Heritage to Industrial Heritage, as an exponent of the social and economic history of the community.

This research is based on the enormous interest that Industrial Heritage arouses as they are highly relevant works for the History of Art, Architecture and Engineering and Urbanism. For this reason, this work aims to show a part of this heritage, bringing to light its fragility and its enormous possibilities that lead us to the following examples of rehabilitation.

With this starting point, we present a research work that arises from the knowledge and defense of this fragile heritage. We Will review the train stations in Córdoba and Seville, both the Plaza de Armas and San Bernardo stations, since al lof them have been rehabilitated and have a current use that is far from their original use.

Based on the knowledge and identification of heritage values, we report, according to the aforementioned case, stations that have undergone profound changes in a social context where the concept of identity for this industrial heritage is diluted in the same of a culture of consumption or of transformed architectures that have nothing to do with the history of this heritage.
