This essay argues that Central American science fiction (sf) writers Laura Quijano Vincenzi, Anacristina Rossi, Cristina Camacho Fahsen, and Jorge Galán collectively challenge patriarchal bodily inscriptions through the concept of rebirth. Their works decenter humanity in the Anthropocene, demand a reevaluation of racial and gender norms, and broadly challenge the commodification of the (post)human body under the neoliberal capitalist model. In dialogue with thinkers like Judith Butler and Mabel Moraña, as well as Latin American sf critics like Iván Molina Jiménez and M. Elizabeth Ginway, I consider how these texts actively reimagine the future of humanity.
