    Language study, in its widely varied forms and uses, has always aroused the interest of those who intend to explain the phenomena related to it. Examining a text, for example, that links non-verbal and verbal language, observing the possibilities of analysis, represents a significant challenge. It is not an easy task since the text needs to be analyzed as a whole, taking into consideration possible interpretations. The main purpose of this article is to analyze charity ads, taking into account the following: 1) the contexts of culture and situation from Halliday's perspective; 2) the contract of communication advocated by Charaudeau (1996); 3) genres, especially charity ads since the identification and the interpretation of a genre stands out as import elements to be highlighted within an analysis.

    O estudo da linguagem, em suas mais variadas formas e usos, sempre desperta o interesse daqueles que pretendem explicar os fenômenos a ela relacionados. Estudar um texto, por exemplo, que une a linguagem verbal e a não-verbal, observando possibilidades de análise, constitui um grande desafio. Não é uma tarefa simples, pois o texto precisa ser analisado como um todo, considerando-se as possíveis interpretações. O objetivo principal é analisar textos de anúncios institucionais, considerando: 1) os contextos da cultura e da situação, a partir da proposta de Halliday (1994); 2) o contrato de comunicação proposto por Charaudeau (1996); 3) os gêneros textuais, especificamente, o gênero anúncio institucional, pois a identificação e a interpretação de um gênero textual constituem importantes pontos a serem destacados em uma análise.
