The commercial production of wine was one of the most profitable businesses during the Roman period. Hispania Tarraconensis stood out in this activity, with the present-day province of Barcelona serving as one of its main centers between the late 2nd century BCE and the 2nd century CE. Analysis of its production centers reveals that different productive models were adopted in structuring both the winemaking process and the packaging. Based on this evidence, we propose to study these production models during the final phase of this activity in the 2nd century CE and to compare them with those implemented during its peak period, between the late 1st century BCE and the Flavian era.
