    RESUMEN. La humanidad culturalmente ha estado condicionada por una tendencia a explicar hechos y causas, una de ellas es la necesidad de entender la trascendencia de su propia existencia. Es necesario analizar de manera crítica-racional los diferentes enfoques y teorías acerca del significado de la vida. Para realizar este trabajo, se utilizó un enfoque hermenéutico que permitió interpretar el fenómeno por etapas. A pesar de que, en el corto plazo, replicadores como los genes expliquen la existencia de organismos complejos como los humanos, en el largo plazo no tienen garantizado su porvenir. Por tanto, para el universo somos intrascendentes, pues el destino es nuestra destrucción.

    ABSTRACT. Humanity has been culturally conditioned by a tendency to explain facts and causes, including the need to understand the transcendence of its own existence. It is necessary to analyze different approaches and theories about the meaning of life in a critical and rational manner. A hermeneutical approach was employed, allowing for the interpretation of the phenomenon in stages. While replicators like genes may explain the existence of complex organisms such as humans in the short term, their future is not guaranteed in the long term. Therefore, in the grand scheme of the universe, we are inconsequential, as our destiny is ultimately destruction.
