In the digital era and the positioning of web 2.0, online reputation has assumed a relevant role, evidencing a notable influence on users’ decision-making, generating trust towards cultural tourism resources and evidencing their general perception of their quality and credibility. Online reputation, based on the perception and assessment by users, has had a greater boom through social networks or opinion platforms on the web, which have had a significant influence in shaping the image of tourism resources and likewise, from a broad and globalised vision, has contributed to the establishment of the image of destinations. Such reputation can be positive, neutral or negative, playing a fundamental role in the way users perceive and trust, transmitting those sensations towards the behaviour of other users. In the context of cultural tourism, online reputation plays an important role in decision-making by tourists, whose behaviour in the planning or pre-visit phase towards tourist destinations prioritises or minimises the interest of visits to the tourist resources that make up the destination, turning to opinion websites for more information through the quality of experiences, accessibility, authenticity and satisfaction on the part of other users. On the other hand, the negative reviews, or criticisms that users tend to transmit affect the reputational image of cultural resources, which is reflected in the low positioning on TripAdvisor. Likewise, low ratings on these platforms often deter the attention of potential visitors and have an impact on the public perception of the quality and value of the place. A good online reputation is therefore conducive to promoting industrial heritage in general. If sites are recognised as quality tourist destinations, receiving mostly positive online reviews, they are likely to increase the number of visitors, thus having a positive impact on the preservation and revitalisation of industrial heritage. This research has focused on evidencing the perception of users towards the industrial heritage resources of the area of eastern Andalusia (Jaén, Málaga, Granada and Almería), through the reviews issued on web platforms, such as: TripAdvisor and Google with the aim of showing the positioning of these tourist resources on the web.
