  El papel educativo del deporte es un tema asumido y trabajado por el docente de Educación Física (EF), sin embargo, en tiempos extralectivos este valor educativo parece que se olvida incluso por los propios responsables de la formación de los jóvenes deportistas. En este trabajo presentamos una revisión relacionada con esta problemática y se aportan datos de una investigación sobre el análisis de contenido de las instrucciones del entrenador deportivo en categorías de fútbol base durante la competición, que pone de manifiesto la relación entre un deporte mayoritariamente practicado por jóvenes en edad escolar como el fútbol y su escasa vinculaci ón con conductas educativas o pro fair-play

  The educational role of sport is an accepted issue and something that the P.E. teacher works on, however, in extra-curricular training this educational value seems to be forgotten even by the same people who are responsible for training the young in sport. In this paper we present a review related to this problem and some data are given about an investigation about the analysis of the content of the instructions given by the sport trainer in lower football categories during competition, which shows the relationship between a sport which is practiced mainly by young people of school age such as football, and the minimum relationship with educational behaviour or fair-play
