The main objectives of this study are to offer an analysis linking music with its ceremonial context in an urban setting and to provide examples of the diversity of musical ceremonies, the space in which they took place, and 18th-century documentary sources that record information about them. It presents a broad overview of the urban festive-musical landscape to highlight representative ceremonies, especially during the five-year establishment of the royal family and their court in Seville, and to assess the influence of the socio-cultural and economic changes that took place in the little-known Sevillian music of the first half of the 18th century.
