The Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a truth of faith dogmatically defined by Pius XII in 1950, can be interpreted from various theological perspectives. In this sense, the present study opts for a Christological view of it, beginning with the observation that the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is the fruit of the redemptive work of Christ, and continuing by noting how it has been understood in analogy with the glorification of Jesus. Finally, it indicates the Christological nuance that can be discovered in the theological arguments that underlie the Marian mystery that concerns us.
