    En el presente artículo se analizandiversas concepciones acerca dela responsabilidad social universitaria, así como los elementos que ayudan a obtener niveles más altos de eficiencia y eficacia de los resultados del quehacer universitario en la sociedad, cuyo objetivo es contribuir al desarrollo sostenible de la humanidad.Se destacan,además,losprincipales logros de la enseñanza posgraduada en el contexto de la educación superior cubana, así como algunosdesafíos que enfrenta esta enseñanza para satisfacer, desde una postura ética y responsable, las crecientes demandas de la formación continua de losprofesionales.Por ello, tienecomo objetivo hacer énfasis en la importancia que merece el mejoramiento continuode la gestión universitariaen el contexto social, y en particular delos estudios deposgradoque desarrollan las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES)

    In the present article different conceptions about university social responsibility are analyzed, as well as the elements that help to obtain higher levels of efficiency and effectiveness of the results of university work in society, whose objective is to contribute to the sustainable development of humanity. It also highlights the main achievements of postgraduate education in the context of Cuban higher education, as wellas some challenges facing this teaching to meet, from an ethical and responsible position, the growing demands of continuing education of professionals. Therefore, its objective is to emphasize the importance that the continuous improvement of university management in the social context deserves, and in particular of the postgraduate studies developed by the Institutions of Higher Education (IES).
