    En 2027 se conmemorarán los 100 años de la celebración de la Exposición Internacional de la Deutscher Werkbund “Die Wohnung” en Stuttgart. La propia ciudad-territorio será escenario de la IBA’27. Este artículo concentra su objetivo en torno al proceso creativo y los modos de ideación que implicaron tanto las relaciones de carácter físico-ambiental, como urbanísticas y socioculturales sobre el paisaje histórico de Stuttgart que fundamentaron las acciones proyectuales adoptadas por Mies van der Rohe entre 1925 y 1927. Para ello se analizan las fuentes primarias con una selección de la documentación gráfica que ilustra el discurso científico de la propuesta, permitiendo constatar la visión moderna del proyecto y la debilidad del interés mostrado hasta ahora por el aspecto cultural y patrimonial del paisaje. El arquitecto ágrafo dejó constancia de su método al establecer argumentos de complicidad con el paisaje, con los elementos configuradores del lugar elegido para la Weiβenhof.

    In 2027, the 100th anniversary of the Deutscher Werkbund’s International Exhibition “Die Wohnung” will be commemorated in Stuttgart. The city itself will host IBA’27. This article focuses on the creative process and the modes of ideation involved in the physical-environmental, urban and sociocultural relationships of Stuttgart’s historic landscape which underpinned the design actions adopted by Mies van der Rohe between 1925 and 1927. To this end, primary sources are analyzed, including a selection of graphic documentation that illustrates the scientific discourse of the proposal, revealing the project’s modern vision and the weakness of the attention so far given to the cultural and heritage aspects of the landscape. The architect, whose writings were far from prolific, left evidence of his method by establishing arguments of complicity with the landscape, and with the elements that shaped the site chosen for the Weissenhof.
