This paper examines the construction process of social image about climate changethrough three Spanish newspapers published in 2002, 2007 and 2008. The analyses ofdate show how the climate change that was a distant and abstract issue had beentransformed in a current social problem. This change is the resultant of a spectacularinclusion of climate change in the political and media agenda. The study results showhow the climate change was almost unknown before 2002 and after that the numbers ofinformation growth significantly on the Spanish newspaper. Currently the climatechange issues are dealt more technically and scientific than before. In 2008 theeconomic crisis attracts the media attention and the climate change become to deal in itseconomic dimensions more than none other. It can help we think about the sustainabledevelopment. Is possible development and sustainability at the same time?
