The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of the biotypes of native chickens CanelaPreta, Rabo-de-Leque and Sura on egg and chick weight, the correlation of egg and chick weight at birth and other productive phases (initial, growth and end). The eggs were identified and weighed individually on a digital scale with an accuracy of 0.01 g and incubated at 37.5 ºC with 60% RH. The hatched chicks were weighed individually and identified. The DIC was used with three treatments and fifty-six replications and the variables were submitted to ANOVA to evaluate the effect of biotype on the studied measurements. Means were compared using the Tukey test (p≤0.05) when a significant difference was detected. Simple Pearson correlations and regression analysis between variables were estimated. There was no significant influence (p>0.05) of biotype on the weight of eggs and chicks. The analyzes were carried out using the REG procedure of the Statistical Analysis System program (SAS studio). There is a high and positive correlation between egg and chick weight at birth. The linear regression analysis was positive for the three biotypes. The influence of egg weight on chick weight was verified up to the fourth week of life only in the Rabo-de-Leque biotype. It is concluded that the biotype did not influence the weight of the egg and chick. There is a relationship between the chick’s birth weight and weight gain up to the fourth week of life in the Rabo-de-Leque biotype. No relationship was found between the weight of eggs and birds in the other production phases
