Absenteeism is a complex problem, which affects different areas: human, social,economic and organizational. The environment in which professional activity takesplace should be considered in the study of absenteeism. This study examined theexistence of differences between psychological climate dimensions and absenteeism in asample of health professionals from several hospitals, and whether these differences aremaintained in relation to gender.A sample of 440 health professionals was used (80.2% female) from different hospitalsin Granada, whose age ranges between 21 and 64 years (mean 44.34 and standarddeviation 9.03). A questionnaire was designed to understand the social variables and thelevel of absenteeism. For the measurement of psychological climate WES has beenused.Results. No significant differences were found between the dimensions of climate anddifferent levels of absenteeism, when it was due to disease. Differences were found invarious dimensions of climate when absenteeism was due to training. In thiscomparison, we found more dimensions whose differences were significant in men thanin women, and in different dimensions.
