    La narrativa relata una experiencia vivida por una enfermera en un servicio de urgencias extrahospitalarias ante un accidente laboral con un final trágico: Amputación. Durante la intervención, el equipo sanitario actuó con rapidez y coordinación para controlar la hemorragia y trasladar al paciente, un joven de 23 años. Más allá de la atención técnica, se destaca la carga emocional de presenciar cómo una vida cambia en segundos y la impotencia ante una tragedia que pudo evitarse con mejores medidas de seguridad laboral. La experiencia genera una profunda reflexión sobre la importancia de la prevención, la responsabilidad institucional y el papel de la enfermería como acompañante en el sufrimiento humano. Finalmente, se concluye que ser enfermera implica mucho más que curar: ser puente entre el dolor y la esperanza, promoviendo cambios que eviten que historias similares se repitan.

    The narrative presents an experience lived by a nurse in an out-of-hospital emergency service in response to a workplace accident with a tragic outcome: amputation. During the intervention, the healthcare team acted quickly and in a coordinated manner to control the bleeding and transfer the patient, a 23-year-old man. Beyond the technical aspects of care, the narrative highlights the emotional impact of witnessing how a life can change within seconds and the sense of helplessness when facing a tragedy that could have been avoided through better occupational safety measures. The experience prompts a deep reflection on the importance of prevention, institutional responsibility and the role of nursing as a source of human suffering. Ultimately, it concludes that being a nurse extends far beyond clinical care: it means being a bridge between pain and hope, fostering changes that prevent similar incidents from repeating themselves.
