Concepción, la utopía imaginada

    Las utopías son una construcción propia de la modernidad, que proyecta aspiraciones colectivas hacia un horizonte imaginario, que muchas veces supera la realidad. De ahí que esta investigación persiga conocer la percepción e imaginarios urbanos de los habitantes de Concepción, Chile, respecto de su ciudad. La metodología es cuantitativa, se basó en un cuestionario aplicado a más de 115 personas. Destaca que un 63 por ciento de los encuestados asocia a la noche como el momento que más representa a la ciudad, un 23 por ciento la asocia al color verde y a la hora de identificar un lugar de la ciudad, tan sólo un 9 por ciento menciona al río Biobío que atraviesa Concepción.  La calidad de vida, la biodiversidad y la vida universitaria destacan entre lo que más le gusta, y al visualizarla a futuro, la mitad la proyecta como una ciudad inteligente, sustentable, ecológica y juvenil.

    Utopias are a construct of modernity, projecting collective aspirations toward an imaginary horizon that often surpasses reality. Hence, this research seeks to understand the urban perceptions and imaginaries of the inhabitants of Concepción, Chile, regarding their city. The quantitative methodology was based on a questionnaire administered to more than 115 people. It is notable that 63 percent of respondents associate nighttime as the time of year that most represents the city, 23 percent associate it with the color green, and when identifying a place in the city, only 9 percent mention the Biobío River that runs through Concepción. Quality of life, biodiversity, and university life stand out among their favorites, and when visualizing the future, half of them project it as a smart, sustainable, ecological, and youthful city.
