    La ciudad de Madrid se analiza, en este trabajo, a través de las imágenes en torno al agua del cine de Pedro Almodóvar. Este planteamiento permite a la investigación, primero, establecer relaciones entre Madrid y su contexto castellano, al que tanto debe el cineasta y, segundo, profundizar en la ciudad de manera pormenorizada, analizando situaciones que recorren el espacio urbano desde la calle, la fuente o la piscina, hasta escenas de intimidad que muestran otra ciudad en el baño o la cocina. Un estudio, en definitiva, que explora la simbología del agua cuando interviene en la ciudad que representa el cine de Pedro Almodóvar, ofreciendo una lectura transversal de Madrid, que se muestra en toda su complejidad —y humanidad— cuando se mira a través del agua.

    The city of Madrid is analyzed, in this work, through the images in relation to water from Pedro Almodóvar's work. This approach allows the research, first, to establish connections between the city and its Castilian context, to which the filmmaker owes so much and, second, to delve into the city in detail, analyzing situations that run through the urban space from the street, the fountain or the pool, to intimate scenes that show another city in the bathroom or kitchen. A study, in short, that explores the symbology of water when it intervenes in the city that Pedro Almodóvar's films represents, offering a transversal reading of Madrid, which is shown in all its complexity—and humanity—when seen through water.
