    How many inhabitants did Gimenells have during the 20th century? W hat type of settlement was there? How has its populations evolved during this century? These are the basic questions that we will answer in this article, in which a peculiar historical situation conditioned the demographic development of both the municipalities: Gimenells and Alpicat.
