    Sobre la obra de Sara Herrera Fontán.

    Sara Herrera Fontán Artista Plástica de la Universidad de Antioquia. Vive y trabaja en Medellín. Ha participado en distintas exposiciones colectivas en varias salas de la ciudad, como el Museo de Antioquia, el MAMM, entre otras. También ha participado en muestras nacionales e internacionales. Fue seleccionada para participar en el pabellón Artecámara de ArtBo en el año 2016. Ha sido invitada a exponer individualmente en La Galería de La Oficina y la Galería Oliver Debré de la Alianza Francesa de Medellín. Obtuvo el segundo premio de los Premios Nacionales de Cultura de la Universidad de Antioquia en el 2008 y una de las becas para la creación otorgada por la Alcaldía de Medellín en el 2013.

    El desarrollo de su obra ha girado en torno a las complejas relaciones de los seres humanos con la naturaleza en el mundo contemporáneo al trabajar esta problemática desde distintas perspectivas. Investiga la construcción de sentido en nuestra relación con el mundo, explorando cómo los marcos filosóficos han moldeado nuestra percepción de lo sagrado y nuestra forma de habitar el entorno. Su trabajo busca imaginar otros modos de existencia, en los que la separación entre lo humano y lo no humano se disuelve en un tejido de interdependencias. A través de la pintura, explora formas de pensamiento mítico no jerárquico, donde seres, materias y fuerzas coexisten en una continuidad. Le interesa la memoria de lo que aún no ha sido y la posibilidad de descubrirlo.

    On the work of Sara Herrera Fontán.

    Sara Herrera Fontán Plastic artist, graduated from the University of Antioquia. She lives and works in Medellín. She has participated in various group exhibitions in different venues across the city, such as the Museo de Antioquia and the MAMM, among others. She has also taken part in national and international exhibitions. In 2016, she was selected to participate in the Artecámara pavilion at ArtBo. She has been invited to present solo exhibitions at La Galería de La Oficina and at the Galerie Oliver Debré of the Alliance Française in Medellín. She received the second prize at the National Culture Awards of the University of Antioquia in 2008 and was awarded one of the creation grants granted by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín in 2013.

    The development of her work has revolved around the complex relationships between human beings and nature in the contemporary world, approaching this issue from different perspectives. She investigates the construction of meaning in our relationship with the world, exploring how philosophical frameworks have shaped our perception of the sacred and our ways of inhabiting the environment. Her work seeks to imagine other modes of existence in which the separation between the human and the non-human dissolves into a fabric of interdependencies. Through painting, she explores forms of non-hierarchical mythical thinking, where beings, materials, and forces coexist in continuity. She is interested in the memory of what has not yet been and in the possibility of discovering it.
